They Don’t Just Dress Up — They Entertain
They look the part, they act the part, and they know the part. That last one is what separates our characters from a guy in a rented suit. Every performer is a circus entertainer first, so the costume is just the wrapper on a real skill set — the superhero who shows up to your event can juggle and pose for a hundred photos without dropping character, the princess can perform on the silks, the pirate can stilt-walk down a parade route, and the wizard can actually do the magic he’s promising.
We’ve been building and casting characters in Cincinnati for over two decades, and the roster runs deep — princesses and superheroes are the headliners, but it stretches all the way out to mermaids, pirates, holiday characters, historical figures, sports mascots, and a few delightfully strange ones. We’re also an animal-free circus, so when you want a zoo theme or an elephant, you get a costumed performer or a puppet, not a live animal. And if the character you’re picturing isn’t on the list, describe it — custom builds and look-alikes are routine.
What’s You Get With Costumed Character Booking
A Performer, Not a Mascot Suit
Depending on the performer, yours might juggle, twist balloons, paint faces, walk on stilts, or other circus acts. The costume is the entrance; the skills are the show.
In Character the Whole Time
Our performers hold the character from arrival to goodbye — interacting with guests, posing for photos, running activities, and keeping younger kids fully convinced they’ve met the real thing.
Built to Your Theme
Pick from a deep roster or commission something custom. Brand mascots, look-alikes, holiday figures, themed-event characters — if you can describe it, we can most likely build and cast it.
Our Most Popular Costume Character Options
The roster sorts into a handful of families, with custom characters available alongside any of them.

Where Characters Earn Their Keep
Birthday Parties & Kids’ Events
This is the classic — a costumed character who leads activities, poses for every photo, and makes one kid feel like the star of the kingdom. We run the full interactive birthday programming (character lessons, games, cake-time moments, craft add-ons) through our Parties & Events packages.
Festivals, Fairs & Parades
High-visibility, high-foot-traffic events are where recognizable characters shine — and where the stilt-walking versions pay off, towering over the crowd and visible from down the block. We’ve worked parades and festivals across the region.
Corporate, Openings & Themed Nights
A mascot at a store opening, a branded character at a company picnic, showgirls and a Roman gladiator at a casino or derby night — characters double as atmosphere and as a marketing piece you can skin to a sponsor or product.
What Our Clients Say
“
Brandie, Casper, and the Monkey Man were so amazing to work with. Brandie was my contact through the whole planning process and was so attentive and responsive to all of our needs. Our first time event was a huge success, and we look forward to working with them again in the future!

It was a huge success and everyone had a great time. I got much feedback that it was one of the most fun events we have had. Thank you for making it happen for us.

I highly recommend the Cincinnati Circus Company. When I called to book, a real person answered the phone, quickly looked us up, made great recommendations for new fun activities for our mostly young crowd, and sent out our contract on the same day.

Costumed Charachter — Frequently Asked Questions
Depends what you book, but most do plenty — juggling, balloon art, face painting, magic, stilt-walking, even aerial silks and fire for the right character. They’re performers in costume, not greeters.
We create our own versions of the heroes, princesses, and icons kids love, and we build custom characters and look-alikes to match almost any theme. Tell us what you’re after and we’ll tell you what we can put together.
No — we’re an animal-free circus. Zoo animals, elephants, and the like come as costumed performers or puppets, which travel anywhere and never need a handler.
Birthday parties, festivals, fairs, parades, company picnics, store and restaurant openings, holiday events, casino and derby nights, and themed celebrations of nearly every kind.
Yes. Many characters have a stilt-walking version, and most can layer in a second skill — a balloon-twisting superhero, a face-painting princess, a juggling pirate.
